Golden Dome gains Arctic authority as U.S., Denmark, and Greenland sign security pact
A U.S.–Denmark–Greenland Arctic Security Agreement authorizes homeland-defense access including Golden Dome in Greenland, while Pentagon phasing still runs Epic 1 (2028) into Epic 2 (through 2035).
On the missile-defense side, the U.S., Denmark, and Greenland signed an Arctic Security Agreement on Sept. 22 (UNGA sidelines) that explicitly authorizes U.S. military access for homeland defense “including through establishment of a Golden Dome defense system,” plus Pituffik modernization and new Defense Areas at Narsarsuaq and Mestersvig.
SpaceNews framed the Sept. 26 read-out as legal authority more than an architecture decision—Denmark’s PM said Golden Dome’s content on Greenland is still TBD. That tracks the broader Epic 1 (2028, existing systems) → Epic 2 (through 2035) phasing Guetlein has been describing.
Adjacent industrial base: Iridium stockholders on Sept. 24 approved Rocket Lab’s acquisition (~99.6% of votes cast; ~$54/share notional), with close still targeted mid-2027 pending remaining regulators. Consolidation of launch + space systems + L-band PNT/comms is the kind of vertical stack national-security customers watch closely.
